Tyrantshredd is more than a name, it’s a persona forged in distortion and sharpened by the inevitable collisions of existence. The name is not Tyrantshred, it has two D’s, and this is essential to the proper spelling of it. The second D in shredd stands for the rule breaking attitude that made Tyrant refuse the norms of social standards from a very young age.
Tyrantshredd blends the ferocity of metal shred with the soul of blues and the haunting textures of the acoustic guitar. His lead style draws from legends like Marty Friedman, Nuno Bettencourt, John Petrucci, Zakk Wylde and Yngwie Malmsteen, while his rhythm playing pays homage to the titans of palm muting madness and thick heavy tone, such as James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, Dino Cazares, and Fredrik Thordendal. In addition, his lead and rhythm guitar playing are also influenced by great gaming composers such as Nobuo Uematsu and Michiru Yamane.
But this isn’t just about guitar. It’s about atmosphere. A love for Horror films, Video games, and how they can be mixed in psychological dread bleeds into his music, visuals, and themes.
Tyrant lives by a Nihilistic/Stoic code. His approach to life is one of mental freedom, with the ability to see how meaningless life is, and embracing the power that comes from that mindset.
